Kite and wing equipment rental in Langebaan
Full kits, individual items and multi-day rates for independent riders. A rescue pass is included with every kite or wing rental.
Who we rent to
Rental is for riders who are already independent. In practice that means you can ride upwind and complete a turn without dropping into the water. If you are not there yet, a lesson is both safer and cheaper than losing a day to a downwinder you did not plan.
Before your first rental one of our instructors will do a short evaluation on the water. It takes a few minutes and it is not a test to catch you out — it tells us which kit to put you on and whether the conditions that day suit your level.
Why rent instead of flying with your gear
If you are coming from overseas, excess baggage on a board bag will often cost more than a week of rental here, and airline damage to a foil or a board is a genuinely expensive problem to have on holiday. Renting also means you can ride a 9m one day and a 12m the next as the wind changes, rather than being stuck with whatever single size you packed.
Rescue pass included
Langebaan has a dedicated rescue service on the lagoon. Every kite and wing rental from us includes a pass for it — if you end up downwind or the kite goes down, the boat comes and gets you, rather than you walking back along the beach carrying a wet kite.
Not renting from us? You can still buy a rescue pass through the school. Ask us for current rates.

All prices in South African Rand. Longer rentals get progressively cheaper per day — the 5-day rate on a full kite kit works out at roughly R1 120 a day.

Wetsuits and harnesses are not available on the under-3-hour rate; they are included in a full kite or wing kit. Need something longer than five days, or a season-long arrangement? Ask us — we do longer-term rates for riders staying the season.
The kit you will be riding
We rent current-season Duotone gear — wings, kites, foil boards and twintips. Tell us your weight and the sizes you normally ride and we will have the right setup ready.

Rental terms and conditions
Short, and all of it exists because of something that has actually happened.
- Renters must be proficient riders, able to ride upwind and complete turns without falling in the water.
- Rental approval depends on a short rider evaluation by one of our instructors.
- Equipment must not be left inflated on the beach for more than 15 minutes.
- Teaching with rented equipment is prohibited — private instruction is not permitted in Langebaan.
- Equipment must come back clean, dry and undamaged, or a cleaning and repair fee applies.
- Rentals must be returned at the agreed time to avoid additional charges.
On the no-private-instruction rule
Teaching someone else using rented equipment is not allowed. This is not our rule — private instruction is not permitted in Langebaan, and the schools operating here are held to it. Please do not put us in the position of having to enforce it.
